Portugal’s only featured among the top 25 beaches in the world

Witness some of the most dramatic scenery in the world. Hugged by fiery clay cliffs contrasted with the dense green pine of Portugal’s Algarve Coast, is Praia de Falesia Beach – an 8km-long slice of white sand that resembles an enchanting seaside Grand Canyon.

The scenic cliff trails that lead to the beach are an attraction in themselves; lined with sea daffodils, pink spinny thrift, and white sand lilies, relax on an empty shoreline reserved for those who would rather have wide-open spaces all to themselves.

It is also great for surfing, with waves that are perfect for beginners, swimming, or taking long beach walks to collect small conquilhas clams. A perfect relaxing day by the clear water. From a vantage point atop the cliffs be sure to catch the amazing colors of sunset and sunrise – both are absolutely amazing here, painting the world a brilliant spectacle every time.

Explore the rich roots of culture

Just a few short steps from the marina, the archaeological site, and the museum of Cerro Da Villa offer insight into what life was like on the coast two millenniums ago. An ancient Roman site that has been hiding in plain sight for centuries until recently archaeologists have excavated the area and started to piece together what once stood there.

So far, they’ve found evidence of a large villa with several baths, as well as a temple and marketplace. It’s an amazing discovery and a true testament to the rich history of the region. The route through the ruins and museum provides an immersive experience of a typical Roman maritime villa, with mosaics, luxurious fountains, and interior walls painted with frescos of geometric and floral motifs.

  • "This turned out to be a perfect place for a 8 night break."

The weather was perfect, the beach lake is so unique, and the service in the hotel was superb. We stayed in a family room which had a wonderful sea view. The design of the resort is impressive. It feels spacious, private & with beautiful plants & shrubs throughout. What really stands out is the level of service. From the moment of check-in service was exemplary. We look forward to coming back!
  • "No wonder why this hotel and Algarve as a destination has received the World Travel Awards, the Oscar of hospitality "

One of the best resorts I have been to. The landscape is unbeatable, oh the colors, the lake, the birds and nature, the marina. Just loved the whole package. Not much of a golf player myself, but even that is offered via their concierge. I would highly recommend this hotel and I personally would go back to this scenery without thought.
