Christmas at Makris Athens by Domes: Entering Chef Petros Dimas’ Utopia
Every December, something subtle shifts. The days grow quieter, the light softens, and the season brings a sense of calm anticipation; a pause before celebration. It is within this atmosphere that Makris by Domes invites guests into a world designed not simply for dining, but for feeling.
For this year’s festive season, Chef Petros Dimas offers something rare: a gastronomic journey that turns Christmas into an immersive narrative. The theme is Οὐτοπία — “my imaginary world, where everything works in harmony and near perfection.”
And for a few hours, this world becomes real.
A Festive Table Set in Utopia
The Christmas and New Year’s Eve menus unfold like chapters of a winter tale — intimate, contemplative, and beautifully connected to earth, memory, and light.
The journey begins with “ The Forest… A Memory of Earth, Smoke and Light” — a signature Makris dish that captures the essence of December. It arrives as a whisper of mushroom cappuccino, chestnut, and brioche feuilletée — the forest distilled into warmth.
From there, each dish deepens the narrative, revealing the chef’s almost cinematic approach to seasonality and flavor.

Hamachi with pink grapefruit and purple radish introduces brightness — the idea of winter illuminated.
Then comes Red Mullet cooked with its scales, a technique that preserves texture with astonishing delicacy, paired with Assyrtiko, calamari, and caviar.
The heart of the menu is Guinea Fowl with parsnip, plum, and truffle jus, a dish shaped by contrast: light and depth, salt and sweetness, familiar and new.
A gentle pre-dessert of chestnut, rum, forest fruits, and vanilla sets the tone for a closing touch inspired by Italian tradition: Panettone, reimagined through the Makris lens.
It is a Christmas experience meant not to recreate nostalgia but to elevate it — a reminder that festive comfort can also be refined, subtle, and daring.
New Year’s Eve 2026 — A Night for Elegance

If Christmas is intimate, New Year’s Eve is celebratory — a crescendo built around exceptional produce and confident technique.
Blue Breton Lobster with persimmon and citrus leads the way with a flawless balance of sweetness and brightness. The emblematic White Grouper with Champagne sauce and oyster brings a luxurious marine note — refined yet restrained. Then, the evening reaches its peak with Duck Breast Fillet, paired with quince, blackberry, and a jus infused with cru de cacao.
For dessert, Baba au Rum topped with hazelnuts and Kaluga Caviar N25 transforms tradition into pure indulgence — a daring, elegant finale. And then, naturally, the New Year’s Cake: a moment of symbolism, hope, and shared wishes.
Carte Blanche — Trusting the Chef’s Vision
The most intimate festive experience at Makris is not announced through ingredients or structure. It begins with a question:
“Do you trust Petros Dimas?”
A once-in-a-year opportunity to hand the evening entirely to the chef, allowing him to compose a culinary narrative shaped by inspiration, mood, and the finest produce available that day.
For those who choose it, the Carte Blanche becomes the purest expression of Makris: unbound creativity, quiet luxury, and a meal written in real time.
A Christmas Story Written in Flavors and Light
At Makris by Domes, festive dining is not a performance — it is hospitality crafted with intention, calling guests into a sensory world where winter becomes poetry, tradition becomes texture, and every dish carries a quiet message:
Luxury is not excess. Luxury is presence.
Luxury is attention.
Luxury is the way a single evening can become memory.
Words have many different meanings. So does the Domes experience.
