The Lute & the Sea – Cultural Evening at Amphiteátro

In the open-air heart of Domes Aulūs Elounda, with the Gulf of Elounda shimmering in the distance, an extraordinary evening unfolds. A celebration of one of Crete’s most deeply rooted musical traditions. The night begins with a screening of the award-winning documentary The Lute, an intimate portrait of the Cretan lute and the extraordinary artist who has devoted his life to it. Presented with English subtitles. Michalis Fragkiadakis, the featured artist, then takes the stage live, joined by Hara Fragkiadaki, presenting selected works from his remarkable career among them his iconic Πάντα Θλιμμένη Χαραυγή (Always Sorrowful Dawn).
