According to locals, Loulé is the beating heart of Algarve crafts. There you can observe authentic artisans at the palm weaving shop, the copper shop, the clay studio, the watchmaker’s studio, and the luthier’s studio – where traditional musical string instruments are made.

The town of Loulé, proud of its artisans, has developed a program to promote local skills: Loulé Criativo. Also available are mosaic-painting and basket-weaving workshops, utilizing an ancestral method, and souvenirs to take home.
