A Four-Hands Culinary Encounter at Domes Lake Algarve
On September 17, the serene shores of Domes Lake Algarve, Autograph Collection became the stage for one of the season’s most anticipated gastronomic encounters. In an unforgettable four-hands dinner, two of London’s most inventive chefs came together, blending bold flavors, irreverent creativity, and global influences in a one-night-only celebration of culinary artistry.
Max Halley, the British chef, presenter, and author behind the cult favorite Max’s Sandwich Shop in London, brought his trademark eccentric flair, transforming the humble sandwich into a gourmet revelation. His playful combinations and indulgent style infused the evening with unexpected delight. Alongside him, Nick Molyviatis, chef and co-owner of Singburi 2.0, one of Shoreditch’s most talked-about new Thai restaurants, showcased his instinctive, daring approach. With dishes that were raw, honest, and deeply flavorful, Nick captivated guests with his ability to turn simple ingredients into unforgettable experiences.
Together, Max and Nick created a sensory journey unlike any other, where British irreverence met Thai intensity, and tradition intertwined with innovation. Each dish was a story, a collision of cultures, and a testament to fearless creativity.
The evening was co-organized with the Estrella. World street-food group, already responsible for six restaurants within the Domes portfolio, further cementing Domes’ commitment to curating world-class international experiences.
The setting itself elevated the night. Domes Lake Algarve, with its saltwater lake, lush gardens, and elegant wooden walkways, provided a serene backdrop. Known for its five signature restaurants, four inviting pools (including one with natural sand), and tranquil sophistication, the resort (recently recognized as the World’s Leading Resort Brand 2024 and named among the best hotels in Europe and the Mediterranean by Condé Nast Johansens) offered the perfect stage for this culinary celebration.
Domes Lake Algarve once again proved itself not only as a sanctuary of relaxation but also as a destination for extraordinary, world-class encounters.
Words have many different meanings. So does the Domes experience.
