Domes Lands in Spain: A New Chapter Begins in Tenerife

Domes continues its international expansion with its first entry into the Spanish market, taking over the operations of Baobab Suites in Costa Adeje, Tenerife—one of the island’s most emblematic and sought-after areas. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for the Group, further strengthening its presence beyond Greece and Portugal and reinforcing its long-term vision for carefully curated, lifestyle-driven destinations.

Baobab Suites is a distinctive all-suite property comprising 125 spacious suites, designed around privacy, comfort, and contemporary living. Located in a prime area of Tenerife, the property is known for its refined approach to hospitality and consistently high guest satisfaction, positioning it as a strong addition to the Domes portfolio.

Why Tenerife, Why Now

Tenerife’s appeal lies in its unique ability to operate as a year-round destination, offering a stable climate, international accessibility, and a lifestyle that balances relaxation with activity. This profile aligns closely with evolving travel patterns and with the preferences of the Domes audience.

Commenting on the expansion, Dr. George P. Spanos, MD, MSc, PhD, CEO of Domes Resorts, highlighted the strategic importance of the destination:

We are extremely pleased to be entering Spain and, in particular, the rapidly growing market of Tenerife. As a year-round, twelve-month sunny destination, Tenerife is highly attractive and strongly demanded by our Domes clientele.”

The property’s existing positioning—paired with Domes’ operational expertise and brand philosophy—creates the foundation for a seamless integration into the Group’s international portfolio.

A Lifestyle-Led Hospitality Experience

Beyond its accommodation offering, Baobab Suites brings a strong lifestyle and wellness focus. The property features multiple dining venues, private pools, a spa, and a dedicated family offering through the Saplings Kids Club. Recent enhancements include a new wellness and sports area with paddle courts, beach volleyball, power biking, and yoga and Pilates spaces—reflecting a holistic approach to modern resort living.

This balance between comfort, activity, and wellbeing mirrors Domes’ broader hospitality philosophy: experiences that feel contemporary, flexible, and rooted in the way guests actually travel today.

A Strategic Partnership with Long-Term Vision

For Baobab Suites, joining Domes represents a step toward becoming a benchmark property within the managed branded hospitality space.

As Filip Hoste, founder of Baobab Suites, noted:

By joining the Domes family, Baobab Suites will become a reference in the managed branded property sector.”

The collaboration underscores Domes’ focus on strong partnerships, operational excellence, and sustainable growth in both established and emerging tourism markets.

Expanding the Domes International Footprint

With this new addition, Domes continues to build a diversified portfolio across Southern Europe, now spanning Greece, Portugal, and Spain. Each expansion reflects a measured approach—prioritising destinations with long-term appeal, strong fundamentals, and the potential to deliver meaningful, high-quality hospitality experiences.

The entry into Spain is not simply an expansion of geography, but an extension of the Domes identity: design-led resorts, lifestyle orientation, and a commitment to experiences that resonate with modern travellers.

As Domes continues to evolve internationally, Tenerife marks the beginning of a new chapter—one shaped by year-round living, refined hospitality, and a shared vision for what contemporary resort travel can be.

Words have many different meanings. So does the Domes experience.
