Myrto knows ceramics

Myrto, a former architect and interior designer, is the owner of Myrto Zirini Ceramics, a contemporary workshop and showroom of one-of-a-kind pieces.

Subtle design, minimal, asymmetrical forms, and a combination of earthy tones and vivid colors characterize what she calls, her “cultural fossils”-. She will gladly welcome you, talk about her work – and even give you some insight into the creation of these time and style-resilient pieces.

What’s kumquat

Since 1924, the Lazaris family has specialized in processing and bottling kumquat in liqueurs and sweets. The kumquat is Corfu’s signature fruit; it closely resembles the orange and is mainly used to make jams, jellies, drinks, and traditional desserts.

Its tradition and heritage can be discovered in the distillery’s exhibition area, where you will find an impressive amount of old equipment, along with audiovisual material which will introduce you to all the production stages of kumquat, and of course, where you will taste all its products.

  • "Miramaretta!"

The super sleek black speedboat Miramaretta, which can ferry you to Corfu town, can also whisk you away to further afield. Captain Kostas went ‘off piste’ and took us to a wonderfully secluded bay for some fun and swimming.
  • We hired a boat twice and did a couple of private tours to great restaurants…

The most incredible islands of Paxos and Anti-Paxos, where we swam in crystal clear waters of the Blue Caves and Voutomi Beach.
  • "Loudos Art Gallery"

The art in the hotel is fantastic and I really enjoyed the masterclass with Spiros, the resident artist. Having him continually present in the gallery to discuss all of the pieces and the methods makes this place truly unique.
  • Five days weren’t enough to do it all…

Walking tour of old town Corfu fantastic, Corfu brewery, winery and olive oil tasting at the ancient grove superb, but we missed the ceramic classes and traditional soap making…Kaiser’s throne and Achilleion palace a must!
